Benjamin 10.4

erwartungen klein, hoffnungen groß,
doch was die rumänen taten war famos.
wir hatten spaß und warn wohl auf,
doch bald erschöpft, denn unsre freunde hattens drauf,

From Bacau:

"This photo was taken yesterday ,after a whole day's  work when my class and I went to help build houses for people in need with Habitat for Humanity(an international volunteer organization). We were dead tired and dirty, but really pleased with the results of our work, ready to take the bus back home."

We are the Europe Project group of the 10th grade and from November 5th to 9th we want to travel to Bacau, a small city in Romania. YOU have got the chance to travel with us!!!! We can offer 6 more students to travel to Bacau. Are you interested? If you want to just speak with Mr. Bernegg. The only hook: we need students from the 9th to12th grade. The costs depend on the kind of transport we choose. Comenius will support your expenses.

We already got great first impressions because they have sent us some e-mails. They are very enthusiastic students and they really want to make the exchange. They sound very hospitable and extremely friendly, so it will definitely be a special opportunity to be their guest. But as you probably guess we will not go there just for fun. We will work on several topics (yet unknown) and present our excellent results. But we will also have fun and time to live with the family, discover the city, nature, shopping streets etc. It would be great for us to come home with new friends and international contacts.

If you need more information about the travel, speak to our teacher Hr. Bernegg or come to us. We have lessons on Tuesday in the 5th lesson and on Thursday in the 7th and 8th lesson.

What students from Colegiul "Ferdinand" in Bacau have written:

"Bacau is an important city in Romania, the largest in this region, and it is considered to be a clean, safe and peaceful community by its citizens. The places for leisure activities include an olimpic indoor swimming pool, a racing track, a little island where you can take a walk through the park and hire a boat and row in the lake surrounding it.

My town also has a recently built mall---Arena City Center, offering a wide variety of well-known brands, such as Levi's ,Adidas,Puma,Converse and the list can go on...I especially enjoy eating there at Pizza Hut, KFC and at a Mongolian restaurant. There you can find a bowling alley and casino.

Now I'll tell you more about my home...I live in a nine-year old detached house which was built by my family, we have a small garden in front of it and a fountain meant to look like a waterfall, with some fish in the basin of the fountain. The place is situated near the town center and the island, in a perfectly safe neighbourhood protected by security guards.

My parents are excited that both our schools colaborate in this project and are totally ok with your staying at our place. I get along very well with them and they support me when it comes to studies and making friends. They are both engineers, but my mother works as a manager at an Italian company and my father runs a transport firm. My older sister has finished highschool and was admitted at the University of Architecture in our capital Bucharest."

"I live in a big and nice house. It has one floor with five rooms:three bedrooms,a room for study, and a room for relaxation. It olso has a big hall,a livingroom and a kitchem downstairs. And of course 2 bathrooms. It has all facilites that provide comfort for a pleasant stay.
